SHORT HIKE

I LONG FOR LOVE WHERE WILL I BE NEXT YEAR I FIND NO PEACE MEANING CORRUPTS MY LIFE MORE THAN ANYTHING

It's the view after rainfall.

There was a time, when, very few people went there. The forest was thick, the birds chirped and the monkeys hung from the trees. I used to sit alone; scared if any wild animal would attack. It was always refreshing to walk the road that took me there.

Despite the same cool wind and the same cosy sunlight, the place is no longer the same. Every now and then I spot a new face; relaxed after reaching the top and amazed to find a rare view. Many people had started visiting this place during the lockdown. Now, it has bars around, the old building made from mud is no longer standing, concrete stairways have been built, the old temple has been renovated, the trees have been felled and the monkeys have left.

I am happy that many have known the place, it has been taken taken care of and mosquitoes no longer bit me there but sad that it is now shared and I fear it will be ruined.
